I has been a while since I’ve posted. Sorry for the lack of updates, but sadly I have no news to update at the moment. I should have some after the first of the year in regards to new releases. So what have I been doing? Enjoying the Christmas season of course.
As most have you have probably figured out from previous posts, I do love Christmas. And as such I’ve been listening to Christmas music a lot. I have Holiday Traditions Sirius/XM in my car and at least three Pandora Christmas stations on my computer for when at home. Not to mention several Christmas playlists on my itunes and Amazon Music.
I thought I’d take the time to list a few of my favorite songs.
The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole (Did the man ever record a song that wasn’t good? I think with his voice, he could have sang the ABC song and made it great)
White Christmas by Bing Crosby…of course! (There are tons of versions but nothing can compete with the original!)
Little Drummer Boy by Alabama
Christmas in Dixie by Alabama
Winter Wonderland by Anne Murray’s
Baby It’s Cold Outside by Dean Martin
Blue Christmas by Elvis
Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me by Elvis
Pretty Paper by Kenny Chesney (Sorry as much as I love country music, I have never been a Willie fan. I know, I know… it’s sacrilege or something. Sorry. I do LOVE Waylon though; does that help? Now that I’ve confessed, I have to say Pretty Paper is one of Willie’s best. Still think Kenny sings it better though )
A Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee (Oh my gosh! I heard the most awful version of this song the other day while shopping. I don’t know who was singing it, but I swear it made my ears bleed and I wanted to shoot the speakers! UGH! the female singer apparently thought a lot of squealing should be added to the song)
Snow by Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kate, and Vera Ellen
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer by Gene Autry
It’s The Most Wonderful Time of Year by Andy Williams
Traditions of Christmas by Mannheim Steamroller (Really love their Christmas Music)
Christmas Cookies by George Strait (any George song is awesome and I love them all, but Christmas Cookies is my fav Christmas by George)
Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me by Elvis (I love Elvis!)
Any Holiday song by Martina MacBride. (She has such a beautiful voice!)
Mis Deseos/ Feliz Navidad by Michael Buble and Thalia ( This is a gorgeous song, especially the beginning)
So as you can see, I’m pretty traditional in my taste for Christmas Music. I know people love the pop Christmas music and the stuff like Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer , but I’m not one of them. So whatever Christmas Carols you love -whether it be traditional, country, pop, or anther genre- go forth and listen. There is something very uplifting about Christmas music!
